Home visit physiotherapy can offer many benefits to our patients including:

  • Elderly patients with limited mobility or those without transport. Asking relatives to transport you to your appointments can be difficult with their work and life commitments. There is the added pressure of traffic situations, where to park? Parking costs,
  • Post surgery patients looking for recovery physio away from the hospital or clinic environment. When you have had surgery you may experience pain, getting in and out of a car plus the journey can cause increased pain levels. Some patients have concerns over infection after surgery mixing with others and entering a new environment. This is eliminated with our service as will visit you in your own home.
  • When you are working from home or carrying out flexi hours sometimes there is not enough time to leave your home drive, get parked and attend an appointment. We are flexible and can visit in your lunch break or prior to your working day can assist and remove this added pressure you have in your busy daily schedule.
  • For those of you with young children or infants getting help with childcare so you can attend an appointment can be difficult. We are DBS checked and are use to a busy family life.
  • Respiratory compromised patients, whether this is a new infection or a chronic condition such as bronchiectasis or COPD. A home visit service eliminates mixing with other individuals, we carry full PPE so this can be worn if you wish when we wish you.

After you have had your initial assessment, we discuss your goals. Having visited you in your own home it gives us a greater understanding of what you wish to achieve. For example being able to reach into a particular cupboard, walk from your lounge to the toilet, manage your flight or stairs or be able to walk to the top of your garden. By observing you at home we maybe able to suggest solutions to some of the activities that cause you difficulties. We will support you to work towards your goals at your own pace.

You may think going to a clinic is better as there is equipment. Many clinic settings have limited equipment as the consultation rooms tend to be small. At home it is surprisingly how much equipment is readily available, such as your bed, steps/stairs, a wall or different height chairs.

We find our patients are more relaxed to talk and demonstrate their individual challenges at home rather than in a clinic environment using your home environment has a huge advantage to you. It allows real life scenarios. It will help your confidence that will allow you to progress faster and achieve your goals.

Our team of friendly physiotherapists will arrange your appointment and treatment to suit you. Whatever your needs, we will accommodate them to ensure you get the most from your home visit. Why not give us a call and have a chat with one of our team?
