Meet Lisa Bardle – Our Hertfordshire based Physiotherapist
Qualified University of Hertfordshire 2005.
On qualifying I completed my junior rotations working in a range of sectors within the NHS encompassing both children and adults. For the past 14 years I have worked as a senior Physiotherapist specialising in intermediate care within both the hospital and community settings treating people at various stages along their journey, prior to diagnosis to end of life.
I have extensive experience in rehabilitation ranging from neurological conditions (including Stroke, Parkinson’s, Motor Neurone Disease and Multiple Sclerosis), Orthopaedics, amputees, palliative care, post operative rehabilitation, elderly rehabilitation and falls prevention.
I have undertaken many courses to further my knowledge and practise. As part of my role, I am used to using many moving and handling aids to assist patients with their rehabilitation or preventing admission to hospital. Treatment may include the progression of transfer aids and walking aids. I am also au fait with the many aids and adaptations of daily living that can assist function where needed.
Following an assessment, I work collaboratively with patients in the setting of goals and devising a personalised treatment plan suited to their needs and lifestyle. My assessments involve a holistic approach and intervention may involve advice on general function and techniques. I work closely with carers and family as requested in helping deliver the treatment programme.
I am also used to working alongside other health professionals in aiding a person’s care. My aim is to assist patients reach their goals and optimum level of function, ultimately improving their quality of life and help advise on ways of maintaining this. I am used to advising on input from other sectors and services as required.
