Neuro-Physiotherapy Services
Our team of highly trained specialist physiotherapists have extensive experience in the treatment of neurological conditions.
Our physiotherapists specialise in treating adults who have suffered an injury or disease affecting their central nervous system (CNS). In these cases ones movement and ability can be affected and include conditions such as stroke (CVA), multiple sclerosis, brain injury, Guillain-Barre syndrome, Parkinson’s disease, Motor neurone disease and spinal cord injuries.
Neuro physiotherapists support patients in gaining a deeper understanding of their condition. Allowing them to face future challenges with confidence and as well as managing their everyday activity as effectively as possible.
Our evidence based therapy approach is primary based on the Bobath concept. The majority or neuro-physiotherapists in the UK use this concept. However we also incorporate other approaches such as yoga and Pilates. Read more about our neuro-physiotherapy.
Respiratory Physiotherapy
We treat a variety of respiratory conditions from asthma, COPD, bronchiectasis, cystic fibrosis, shortness of breath, breathing disorders to obstructive sleep apnea.
Respiratory physiotherapy involves firstly a comprehensive assessment of you. Treatment that is used varies from breathing exercises, positioning, mobilisations, percussion, vibrations, non-invasive ventilation to positive pressure devices (for example Acapella). We aim to deliver the most effective evidenced bases intervention for your specific needs.
Rehabilitation Home Physiotherapy
Rehabilitation physiotherapy can be used to recover from injury or disease and also for the management of long-term conditions, such as Parkinson’s disease and M.S. Physiotherapy is primarily concerned with developing, maintaining and restoring an individual’s maximum movement and ability.
It is an important intervention that prevents the adverse affects of prolonged bed rest and inactivity. Early progressive physiotherapy is recommended to minimise functional decline.
Recovery Physiotherapy
Older people, who have fallen or are at risk of falling, are important to us. Patients will undergo a multi-factorial assessment. A treatment plan will be formulated to include strength and balance work. We pride ourselves in offering a secure, professional service to the older person who has fallen, deteriorated physically or has undergone surgery.
We provide information to patients and their carers on what measures they can take to prevent future falls, how to cope if you do fall again; how to summon help and how to keep warm.
